About Me
I am a multimedia journalist with 10 years of experience in the digital media and magazine publishing industry. I have reported and edited stories on food, travel, culture and identity, fashion and design. Several of them have gone viral, especially a personal essay on how my grandmother’s recipes tethered me to my homeland, Sindh, featured in Condé Nast Traveller.
I have held the role of the Associate Digital Editor at Condé Nast Traveller India for six years, where I have grown audiences by 2x, managed a team and worked on projects like Top Restaurant Awards—India’s most credible restaurant awards. Previously, I was the Features Writer at Hindustan Times, India’s second-largest English daily, where I spearheaded the food section, writing about food trends and restaurant reviews.
Armed with a Master’s Degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, I have had the opportunity to report stories in India and the U.S. My short stint at Modern Luxury, a lifestyle magazine in Chicago, involved reporting about the city’s Indian food scene. In 2018, I was awarded the David Ibata Print Scholarship from the Asian-American Journalists Association.
I have also worked with brands to hone their voice and establish their digital presence, creating compelling commercial content and project strategy.
My words have been published in Condé Nast Traveler US, Condé Nast Traveler Middle East, Traveler Spain, Architectural Digest, Wired Japan, GQ Mexico, Chicago Social magazine and Hindustan Times. This site is home to some of my favourite pieces over the years.
